Training children

I can tell things will get interesting as Zane starts to develop his little personality. Today he is officially 4 months old and he decided to show some attitude. He is a very verbal child already but this was different. One of those times were you are like, 'he's to little, no way, was that a little fit! Not my baby'!!! Well I'm pretty sure it was.
He was just fine one second (i was holding him) and i went to lay him in his seat (which he hates anyhow) and i hadn't hardly got him there and he arched his back and made the nastiest growling noises and a shriek. So i thought "huh, maybe he is in pain" so i pick him up and experiment. He is fine again. I start to put him down, he does the same thing. I do it one more time just to make sure. Sure enough before i even have him all the way down he does it a third time, even more offended sounding than the first two. So that time i set him in there and blew every so slightly on his contorted face, which startled him a bit, enough to make him stop. Then i proceeded to tell him that that was ugly and unacceptable. At which time he blinked (sort of shocked like) seemed to raise one eyebrow and took to sucking his thumb all the while keeping an eye on me. He sat there quietly while i finished getting ready to take Jordan to school.

While this was going on Jordan was having trouble with the whole situation. He told me his brother was a baby and i shouldn't do that to him. He is very protective so I'm sure it will come up again and i will have to explain that Mommy isn't being mean and if i don't train Zane the way i trained him Zane will turn out like his cousins! Bratty little @%#% (i didn't say it) Fit throwing, toy stealers don't make good brothers. He understood that.
When i walked back into the room i heard Jordan explaining to Zane why he should be a good boy and telling him how much he loved him.

My heart melted and i swelled with pride at that moment!

  1. You are an awesome MOM! Both of the boys are so intelligent and full of spunk- its hard to stay ahead of what they might do next. Just send 'em North to Auntie Ti if you ever need a break :)
